AHILA 13 Congress

Entry visa is required for all foreign visitors with the exception of citizens of the countries of CEDEAO/ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States). Diplomatic passport holders, “Laisser passee” and/ or in-service passport holders do not need an entry visa. You can obtain an entry visa on arrival at the airport, upon payment of a fee of Euros25 or CV$2500.

At entry, all travelers should submit a certificate of vaccination against yellow fever. It is advisable that all visitors take malaria prophylaxis before, during and after the visit, especially for participants coming from non-endemic areas.

The Congress will be held at the People’s National Assembly Palace

The local Logistics Committee will organise assistance for the arrival and departure of participants. Each participant shall inform the Secretariat ( dina1982 @hotmail.com ) of their itinerary.  Upon arrival air tickets should be delivered to the Local Committee Secretariat for the return journey confirmation.

All hotel reservations are the responsibility of the Local Organizing Committee and the distribution of participants will be made according to the order of arrival. Most hotels are situated in Praia city centre or in the immediate periphery and are accessible by taxi.

Congress participants should hold health insurance. In an emergency you should ask to be taken to the Emergency Unit of Dr. Agostinho Neto Hospital C/o Local Organizing Committee.

The Cape Verde currency is the Cape Verdean Escudo. The paper money is issued on bank notes of 200 Ecv, 500 Ecv. 1.000 Ecv, 2.000 Ecv and 5.000 Ecv. There are also coins of 1 Ecv, 5 Ecv, 10 Ecv, 20 Ecv, 50 Ecv, 100 Ecv and 200 Ecv.

Exchange can be done in any bank agency or at the Exchange Offices. Some hotels exchange money.

Though Praia City is a safe town, some inconvenient incidents can occur, mainly purse snatching.

Therefore we advise our visitors to be aware:

1.  Keep all your valuables in a safe place.
